Uses Mirataz Transdermal Ointment contains mirtazapine as the active ingredient. Mirataz is used for weight loss in cats. Cautions Mirataz Transdermal Ointment is contraindicated in animals with a history of an allergic reaction to mirtazapine. Do not use it on cats being treated with monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs). Keep out of reach of children. How to use Mirataz Transdermal Ointment is applied to the inside of the cat’s ear. Do not administer it into the ear canal. This medication should be applied by alternating between the left and right ear. Apply this medication to your pet as directed by the veterinarian and follow the instructions on manufacturer’s packaging. Possible side effects Behavioral changes and vomiting are some of the possible side effects. If any of these effects persist or worsen, tell your veterinarian promptly.
