It is recommended to treat infected fish is a separate quarantine tank, and to make sure the water quality levels are adequate before starting treatment. Use 1/2 capful (2.5 mL) per 10 gallons of water. Repeat as needed for not more than 5 days. Increase tank aeration during treatment to ensure a proper oxygen supply for sick fish. Switch off UV sterilizers during treatment. If fish exhibit signs of distress neutralize the medication by using an aquarium de-chlorinator.
